Photo-based yatra registration system for Shiv Khori inagurated (17, May 16)
Ransoo, May 17 – Deputy Commissioner Reasi-Ravinder Kumar, who is also the vice chairman of the Shri Shiv Khori Shrine Board (SSKSB), inagurated the photograph-based Yatra Registration system at Ransoo, the base camp of Shiv Khori Shrine Board on Tuesday afternoon.
During his first visit to the shrine Kumar reviewed the functioning of this new system and was informed by Mahesh Sharma(DTO) Executive Officer SSKSB, that the pilgrims have not to wait in long queues as large number of counters would be set up for issuing Yatra Access Cards and also this would help in better management of the pilgrimage.
Kumar while addressing the media said that under this new system the shrine board authorities would be in a position to have accurate details of pilgrims with their full particulars like name, addresses and photographs and the launching of this photo-identity based system is an extremely important step taken by the Board towards the improvement of Yatra security. By adopting this system every pilgrim visiting the Shrine would be photographed and his relevant data captured in the Board's Data Bank. Thus, in the event of any security related incident or even an accident on the tracks it would be possible to establish the identities of the pilgrims.
Later, threadbare discussions were also held on various issues which mainly include adequate drinking water supply, power supply, medicare, sanitation, security, and transport, repair of road, checking of essentials rates and parking of vehicle. The developmental activities were also discussed with the executing agencies like Tourism & PWD.
It is important to mention here that the Board has taken a number of important decisions to improve the management of the yatra to the holy shrine.
Kumar accompanied by officials also checked pace of development works taken up enroute Shiv Khori Shrine and paid obeisance at the holy cave.
