REASI DISTRICT ADMN HOLDS PROMINENT CITIZENS' MEET (02 Aug 2014)
Participants assure cooperation, maintenance of peace
Reasi, Aug 02: In an effort to ensure peaceful atmosphere in Reasi district, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Reasi Shabir Ahmad Bhat convened here a meeting of prominent citizens to discuss necessary measures for continued tranquility across the district and sought their cooperation for evolving a conducive atmosphere for development in the district.
The DC appreciated the role played by the civil society in ensuring peace in the region. He said that it is the duty of every citizen of Reasi to play an active part in ensuring peace and tranquility.
The DC said all efforts are being made to ensure progress and better services to the people of district and informed that all departments have been asked to make people aware about all the state as well as center sponsored government schemes, Public Service Guarantee Act and display all information about it in their respective offices.
Several prominent citizens also spoke on the occasion and demanded adequate measures should be taken in to ensure peace and said that people irrespective of caste, colour and creed are behind administration in ensuring peace.
The participants representing different sections of society also raised various issues like shifting of district hospital, augmentation of drinking water and power supply, repair of roads, better transport facilities, better infrastructure at Sulla Park, development of parking slots, opening of ex-servicemen centre, adequate civic staff in municipality, construction of public convenience and compensation cases of PMGSY roads.
Bhat gave a patient hearing and issued on spot directions for meeting various demands, adding that regularly such meets will be held in the district
Senior Superintendent of Police, Reasi Vivek Gupta, ADDC Rajinder Singh, ACR Tilk Raj Shasrti, ACD Reasi Joginder Singh Rai, ATRO, CMO, CEO, various district officers, President Beopar Mandal, prominent citizens, presidents of various NGOs, members of PRI’s attended the meeting.
