Haq reviews physical, financial achievements under various sectors at Reasi.
Minister of Rural Development and PR-Abdul Haq Khan has called for revitalizing administration to make it more responsive to the peoples’ needs and result oriented.
He was addressing a daylong meeting here today convened to take in-depth review of physical and financial achievements registered under various sectors in the Reasi district.
MoS Transport (Independent Charge), RDD & Horticulture-Abdul Ghani Kholi, MoS Finance & IT-Pawan Kumar Gupta, MLA Reasi-Ajay Nanda, MLC-Jugal Kishore Sharma, Secretary RDD- Shafat Noor Barlas, District Development Commissioner Reasi-Sushma Chauhan, SSP Reasi-Sujit Kumar,Director RDD Jammu- G. N. Bhalwan, all district and sectoral Officers were also present in the meeting.
In his address Haq said efficient officers and officials would be encouraged while those showing laxity would have to face the consequences. He exhorted for speeding up the pace of development so as to ensure timely completion of schemes and works initiated for welfare of the people. He asked the officers to put sincere efforts while framing new projects pertaining to their departments so as to these can produce desires results on the ground, adding that “Don’t keep projects lingering for small procedures without bothering that common man is suffering”.
Kholi while speaking on the occasion said the concerned authorities should ensure that financial expenditure commensurate with the physical achievements on ground. He said that funds would not be allowed to impede the development process which he maintained has got a new thrust.
Exhorting for concerted efforts to meet the set targets with optimum utilization of funds under each sector, Pawan Gupta called upon the officers to pay special attention towards under developed and backward areas.
The issues projected by MLA Reasi included, filling up of vacant posts in various educational and health institutions, shortage of ration, demand of electricity from NHPC Jyotipuram etc.
MLC Jugal Kishore Sharma also put forth demands which mainly included electrification of uncovered villages, shortage of ration in remote areas and, repair and reconstruction of roads
Initiating the daylong deliberations, the District Development Commissioner Reasi-Sushma Chauhan apprised about the measures initiated by the district administration to provide succor to the people during the recent continuous rains.
Giving brief account of financial and physical achievements of projects being executed under various state & centrally sponsored schemes in the district, DDC Reasi said that out of total approved revised outlay of Rs 2535.69 lacs, the district recorded an expenditure of Rs 2211.51 during the financial year ending March 31, 2015.
The DDC Reasi further informed that about Rs 2390.35 lacs were spend on education sector and Rs 207.47 lacs have been spend on health sector.
The meeting was apprised that work on the Main Block and workshop Block of Polytechnic Reasi is in the final stage, whereas OPD Block of Community Health Center, Mahore has been completed and District Hospital Reasi’s OPD block was made functional during the last financial year.
